For the jalepeno popper experts out there....do you pre-grill your meat? I have done them one time a couple of years ago and I pre-grilled my little chunks of meat for just a minute or two then put them together, wrapped them in bacon, and laid them back on the grill until the bacon is done. They were good but I'm wondering if the pre-grill is necessary. Will they be done enough if I lay the raw meat on there and only let them cook until the bacon is done? Which doesn't take long. Thanks!

If anything I pre-grill the bacon a little. Getting the bacon a little crisp without overcooking the meat is a bigger challenge for me.

try a cheaper brand of bacon that is thinner cut, we had the same problem many years ago

That makes sense. I picked up an old deli slicer in Huntingdon a couple of months ago, so I should be able to slice much thinner. Unfortunately, my cholesterol's back up a little bit so I'm off bacon for a little while. :(

Yep. Plus, you use so much of it, and bacon has gotten so expensive, this is about the only viable option. We get our wrapping bacon from Aldi. It's dirt cheap there.
