But thought I would share it here too.

The HN4 Project/ Hero's Not Forgotten.
This is a ministry for wounded veterans and kids who have lost a parent due to war, that my wife and I have started.
Our goal is to use the therapy of the outdoors and counseling, that my wife will provide starting this fall, to help these veterans and their families get through issues of PTSD or maybe they just need help getting back into the outdoors after the injuries they have sustained.
We will be hosting a deer hunt for 6-8 vets and kids the weekend of the rifle opener and hope to do the same next spring for turkeys too. Through the summer we will be taking vets and their families on canoe/kayak float trips, fishing trips, predator hunts, doing some days of shooting guns/target practicing if they so like....
All of this is free of cost to them.
What im asking from yall is if yall will like our Facebook page to help spread the word through the states.

This next week we are hosting a vet and his family from Michigan for a turkey hunt and other activities.
We are learning as we go so it's a slow process but we feel this is what the Lord wants us to do.
Let me know if you know of a wound vet or kid that can benefit from this.
I tried posting a link to the FB page but it wont work. Just do a search for HN4 Project.
Thanks!!!

Awesome! Always great to see the public giving back. If I can be of any help, you know how to reach us. I can link you up with others in the area who have similar missions. It is always a blessing to learn from others on what works best, etc.

Thanks for giving back!

I agree! No sense in trying to reinvent the wheel!

Awesome idea, I know quite a few vets that have struggled with PTSD and something like this is a great thing. Especially for those who struggle with alcoholism, they can get out and feel apart of a group that doesn't involve binge drinking.

That is our hope.

Well our vet and his family made it in last night and we wasted no time to get him a bird. He made a good 31 yrd shot on this 2 yo tom. We was on these birds from roost. Killed it at 8:25 am this morning. Got the whole hunt on video too.
I will say, there is no better feeling seeing a guy fighting back tears of joy because he just accomplished a goal of killing a longbeard.

I believe I ended up being more blessed than them!
Before he left today to head back home we presented him with the turkey fan mount from his first bird and a custom made wing bone call from that same turkey. I made the plaque from a board off a 170 yr old cabin from the farm the bird was killed on.
