What do you guys keep your extra pot calls and strikers in when you're out in the field? My vest only has two designated pockets for pot calls. Do y'all just pick out the ones you're going to use that day and leave the rest at home or what?

Yes, I never tote more than 3 pot calls in the woods. There are days I walk 6-8 miles in search of a turkey.

FWIW, every year I run all of my "preferred pots" before season and narrow it down to the 3 I like the best at that time. I typically hunt with those 3 the majority of the season, maybe rotating 1-2 more in toward the end of season just to keep things interesting.

I only carry two. I use a belt with different pouches. The one I plan to use is stored in one of the zippered pockets on the side of the pouch with two strikers. The other is stored in a cut-off old sock for protection inside the pouch.

For protecting your pot calls, you could order a pot call cover like Enticer Game Calls offers, or you could redneck it like I do and put them inside a beer koozie which does a fine job at protecting your playing surface and really your entire call.

FWIW, Mr. Al Holbert makes a FINE call , especially for his price point ($35-$50). I have his silver fox aluminum and I think it is the best VALUE out there for an aluminum call. It sounds really really good and is only $35.

I carry three with me, and probably 4 strikers. I use a surface saver lid that woodhaven sells, and my strikers ride in the elastic loops on my tatr vest

I normally have four pots with me. Most days I'll only use 2-3, but like having a spare or two in case I do something stupid like lose one or break it. I carry mine in a couple of neoprene pouches that I got from Avery. They each hold two calls, two strikers, and have a little pocket for the scotch brite for conditioning. They have a loop to put them on your belt, and a swivel clip to hang them from a D-ring. I carry my go-to pair on a paracord lanyard around my neck, while the other is carried in my fanny pack.

They have worked well over the years and have a lot of miles on them and still work great.

I use the woodhaven covers also. I usually carry 4 calls with me and 5 strikers
