Kinda early. Friend of mine killed a gobbler this morning. He was with a larger group of turkeys. Some Jakes and a few hens. But one of the hens had about 10 poults that were +/- 10" tall.

He better have pics or many on here won't believe it.

Very interesting that the hen has laid eggs, hatched them, and reunited with other turkeys. Never seen that before, but usually don't see poults in my parts until June.

Humm exactly what I was thinking as well. But turkeys are strange creatures for sure.

At least 60 days before they were seen, so mid February at the latest. You can assume 14 days for egg laying and 28 days for incubation, so 42 days to hatch from first egg laid, but you have to allot some time to get them to 10" height. I'd suspect she was bred early February.

Yea probably so. Very early, I've never seen the insides of a turkey during the month of February, usually they don't have the body weight to be able to breed and has fertile eggs.
