poults

I saw a hen with 1 poult today in the road in clay county. There are a couple hens that hang out w the jakes in my backyard but they have no babies. The poult I saw today was quail sized and could fly.
 
Im seeing several in Fentress and where I work in Dekalb Co. I work outside every day. The 10 or so hens Ive seen with poults have all had 5-7 poults, but Ive also seen several with 0.
 
Haven't had much time in the field in the last week but other than that big bunch I saw about 2 weeks ago I haven't seen anymore. She had a full clutch though.
 
ive seen one hen out here used to be two every year. but i have only seen her once and that was bout 2 weeks ago but i aint seen no poults in about 4-5 yrs.
 
My neighbor told me the other day he seen two hens right down the road from our farm that had about 10 baby's apiece, that's got me excited. But I did see a hen in the same area Wednesday that was all alone. One of the retired police officers rode by as I was glassing her from the truck and told me he had been seeing one cross the road with little ones. So maybe they are turning around in Lawrence county.

On another note I road through the state park in Lawrenceburg Monday and seen one longbeard, 3 Jakes and 4 hens but no baby's in sight
 
Saw 10-11 little turkeys about the size of a banty chicken with a pair of grown hens while working at the farm today. This makes the 2nd year in a row I've seen results of a good hatch.

Things are looking up.
