Haven't seen too many this summer, but I don't usually see too many turkeys in the jungle green of summer anyway. have seen a hen with 2 poults, a duplicate of last summer, in a thicket near home. Also saw a hen with at least 2 or 3, couldn't see them all, fly up in the trees while I was fishing the west harpeth river in Franklin.

Am I alone in not seeing many during the summer? I see tons of deer

I almost hit a hen with 4 poults near the airport a few days ago. On our farm in MS, we are seeing tons. It may have to do with the fact that we just started planting food plots last year. Turkeys as well as deer are piled up in our clover/chicory plots.

I have only seen a handful. I know there are supposedly a lot in the county and some years I do see a lot. But the last 2,years it has seem to drop off. During deer season 2 years ago I saw a flock of over 100 several times in the bottoms. Last year I saw a grand total of 4. There was a few around during the season this year but I'm afraid its dropping in my local area.

Saw several with one hen in north Alabama on July 4th. Those are the first poults I have seen anywhere near my hunting lands in a decade or so.

Haven't seen any poults in Giles county. Get seven broodless hens on trail camera in a clover plot just about daily. Same thing the past 8-10 years. Hens with no poults.

Looks to be still spiraling downward.

Populations all about nesting success and poult survival. Fall seasons and spring gobbler harvest ain't got nothing to do with it.

Duck River I hunted a 160-something acres in Hickman past few years and this spring there were not many turkeys around. I know they move a lot so it probably means nothing. I can only hope Hickman isn't getting some drop off like the southern counties that have lost their huge populations for no explainable reason

have only seen 2 turkeys within 25 mile radius of my house this year, both hens but before hatch time so havent seen the first poult, here in southern lawrence.
