I got up, headed to the club, parked and loaded up, and headed to the deer stand. On the way in the thought hit me that I didn't remember seeing my release in my ditty bag. I stopped and checked. Nope, not there. I went back to the truck and still no release. Rather than trying to finger shoot and possibly wounding a deer I elected to go back home and get it. Home again and still no release. My baby grandgirl was here yesterday afternoon while I was setting everything out and possibly she picked it up because I still can't find it. Zip over to Bass Pro and pick up another, adjust it, and shooting well. Back to the woods this afternoon to the same place I've passed up a tremendous 6 pointer. If he hasn't gone downhill since last year he may still hang the same area. I figured he was 4.5, possibly 5.5 last year but was scared to shoot if I was wrong. This year will be different if he gives me a shot....and away we go.

Good luck , Mike . I use a wrist strap release and keep it strapped to the grip of my bow in the bow case , l so I don't forget it.

Opening day and my first DA move. I headed back up this afternoon and stopped in where I parked this morning. I walked right up to my release laying on the ground. I guess I needed a spare anyway. I hunted the edge of a bean field and saw zip. Not many were seen all day by the members with only a 5.5-6.5 year old doe taken. She only weighed 70 pounds. She looked like an EHD survivor. I'll be on a ridge covered up with white oak acorns in the morning.

Not many were seen on our place either Mike. I hunted the edge of a soybean field and the only deer I saw was after I got down and was walking out. I spooked one in the dark.
