I put in for a draw hunt for the October 9-11 muzzleloader since it coincides with some extra time off I'll have then. How many of you have hunted there and can answer the following questions?

What part of the area receives the most hunting pressure?

How large is the local deer herd?

Have you ever killed deer there?

What tips do you have?

I'm surprised nobody has chimed in. I've hunted there a long time ago during archery and once a couple years ago with rifle. There was lots if buck sign during that rifle hunt. The herd is typical Cumberland plateau deer. If I had to guess id say @15 deer psm. Probably the half closest to the check station gets the most pressure. PC is a big place with plenty of elbow room and some dandys rooming round. A buddy of mine killed a 140" class 8 in there a couple years ago. They always kill a few studs. I would probably focus my efforts on the side of haileys creek closest to sequatchie valley. Good luck.

Thanks Ghost!

I live and hunt on the northern Cumberland Plateau so I'm very familiar with that type of terrain. Thanks for the tip!
