Pretty fans

A fan is one of my favorite characteristics of a gobbler and they all look different to me, post up some pics of some gobblers you've killed with real pretty or unique fans. This one is my favorite that I've killed.

I love the uniqueness of fans, no pics handy. I really love the slight variations in overall feather colors in the birds. For instance, the GA birds are really reddish while ours are much blacker than any I've killed.

We also see some that have just a few white ticks in the center of their tail fan which is unique to this state from my experience

in all seriousness this one was one of my favs. nice cream color tips with a brown middle. I have a few others on files at home that are very cool as well. I actually have one with white tips like a merrium that is very pretty.

I saw one several years with almost white tips. He resembled a Merriam. I hunted 4 or 5 times but never could get him closer than 100 yards. He always had hens. The nest year never saw him again.

One I have in my office from 20 years ago. Was all white tips. Didn't know how unique it was back then or I would have taken better care of it lol

Never used one mounted on my hat, do they work pretty good?

The one I tried to kill looked just like that. Very cool!

Almost half of the birds I kill have the white ticks in the center couple of feathers. We also have quite a few white/grey hens in my area but I have never seen a white/grey gobbler here.
