Best I can remember I was paying 28.99-33.99 per thousand on CCI SPP then.
I remember Federal SPP jumped to 45.00 per thousand around that time and I thought it was highway robbery. Little did I know what was to come.
Around 40 bucks or so per thousand.
Just buy the primers and get to loading tight wad!
I refuse.

Best as i recall about $35-40 per thousand. Wish I had better stocked my supplies then.

2016: Federal 215 primers 31.79 per thousand (Superformance powder 20.89 per pound)
2018: CCI500 SPP (5000) $144.39 (CFEPistol 22.99 lb)
2020: Shooters world Tactical Rifle 8 pounds $150.99
My previous primer purchases date back to 2014. I stocked up. No one blinked an eye at orders for primers in the 10,000 each category.
For right now. this point in time: You need to purchase about 100 more than you need, except for SRP (223 stuff) and SPP(pistol stuff) buy what you think you can afford.
When the price rolls back, which will follow availabilities, stock up. Mine all still fire. Avoid the Wolf/Tula brand

I bought some on sale for my brother at SW for $23.99 while out with my wife at a limit of 1 box per person. She offered to buy a box for me and I told her at the time that I thought that I was good: it was a good price, but at that time I had 2 bricks at home (turned out I had a full one and the other box only had a sleeve or two in it) and I didn't normally buy any replacements at that time until I broke into a new brick.
