Are any of you finding primers available anywhere? My LGS says they aren't getting hardly any and I am in need of some to work up loads for deer season.

I bought 2 new rifles this summer (6.5 PRC and .300 WM) and so far I've found brass and the bullets I want but I continue to strike out on primers. I'm not a target shooter so I'm not looking for thousands. I just need several hundred to get loads worked out and some rounds to hunt with.

They become available online fairly often but are usually gone in a few minutes. Midway had a large primer dump last week and they stayed available for maybe an hour. They were also charging $90/1000.
I still think your best bet is a local supply store. If online is a must, there are some tools available to make it easier if you look around.

what is out there is WAY over priced in a lot of cases you can buy loaded ammo as if not cheaper. shame of it is people are paying the hi price.

yeah I just don't want to do the gunbroker/pay off a reseller route. I managed to find some 6.5 PRC ammo so it's not as big of a deal but I am striking out terribly on 300WM so far. I will keep looking, just wondered if you guys were seeing something different in your areas.

If you don't mind paying, midway has been having srp cci41 and spp almost every day. In stock right now this morning. They are about $115 for the military srp with hazmat and shipping and a little less for the CCI 500 spp. Powder valley has had some good drops, but their site is kinda screwy.

Powder valley has had lrp a few times in the past couple weeks. I picked up some for $90 a brick a while back, for federal gold medal match large rifle.

I don't mind to pay a retailer like midway and gold medal match for $90 a brick I would be willing to pay them. Those are what I would really like to find!

On Midway again right now...
Price is high, but they have been having those srp in almost every day for the past week or so. They have been having some spp in as well. Seems to a lot of trouble with their shipping.

Natchez had the same srp in stock yesterday for $20 less.

Thanks!!

I was able to purchase 1000 Gold Medal Match LRP from brownells.

I really appreciate the heads up and the PM.

Now I just need to find some Gold Medal Magnums and I'm in business!

That is SO tempting!
When is Midsouth Shooters going to finally get some in? They haven't jacked up their prices on reloading supplies.
Yeah, I have talked myself out of buying any. Still have them in my cart and they are still available. I have plenty for now though. With a $150 purchase at brownells use discount code "tag" to save $15.

Midsouth had a drop on primers last week I believe, but I don't recall what they were, and they did not last long.

Midway has CCI Large rifle primers in stock at the moment. Also, Remington small pistol. You do have to click on the item to see and add to cart though since the main page shows Temporarily Unavailable.

powdervalley had some cci450 small rifle magnum primers this morning but i got tired of trying to buy them,,
add primers to cart,,not available for 23 seconds,,wait and try again,,did that 10-12 times and said screw it..
