Anyone know of a good archery forum, I've been registered on AT for sevral years & it just stinks, the site is insane slow & often just locks up, cant find any needed info at all, you'd think the site opperates on dial up.

Not slurring this archer thread at all but sometimes I need more info than whats available on just one thread, dig me some TND dont get me wrong.

In my opinion, AT just sucks unless your looking for something in the classifieds or the DIY forum....some good deals and good ideas can be found in there. The problem with AT is that there is such a large number of people on there, you have to weed through and the research the information you just gathered to make sure that it is accurate and correct and not a complete waste of time, and then you better check what you just checked. Not to mention the pompous attitudes that are in there.

Personally, I think this is a great forum, with great people and there are a lot of years of combined experience with people that have competition and/or hunting experience and it is not chocked full of people that have only been shooting for a couple of years that think they know it all because they've read a few "how to's" on the internet. Another place to get good information is the bow manufacturing website forumsin those you can get the latest info on what is going on the various bows and many top bowsmiths for the manufacturers, as well as retailers hang out in there on a frequent basis that are loaded with information from the newest models as well as the older model bows.

There are problems with every forum there is. The main problem is that they have people on them. Hahah.

A.T. is full of people from all different styles of archery and filled with all age groups. Some have very very inflated egos. Some have no sense of their own likes/dislikes and will repeat everything they've heard from their dealer or buddies as the gospel truth. Some are diehard fanboys of particular products...some change bows like my wife changes pocketbooks and go through at least 5 a year. The main thing is to have a discriminating eye. That goes for any forum. The opposite is true for this particular forum. It doesn't generate enough readers/contributors during the bulk of the yr but really picks up around archery season as it pertains mostly to hunting. So this is more of strictly a hunting forum for me. Whereas I shoot yr round and spend more time in tournament setup than I do in hunting setup. That's not a bad thing...but TnDeer would be one of the last places I would post a question about setting a bow up with a target stabilizer setup, or to ask about target sights, etc. VS ArcheryTalk where you have a larger demographic of target archers...some of which have been top 5 at all the ASA shoots they've shot in this year...which is quite impressive. Brand specific forums are okay...but also have their drawbacks too. On those, you FOR SURE have the fanboy base. So if you were wanting to ask which of Brand X or Brand Z would be best...you can always expect it to be hands down, the one for the particular brand forum you are on...and you will never find negative posts/reviews on brand specific forums...they get zapped by the moderators.

I was on and sponsored Archeryaddix.com in 2011 but they were just getting started. the owners are GREAT guys but I havent been on there since then and to be honest there werent that many users using it at the time. Not much info on there then but again that was 2 years ago. May be worth a shot now.

Lotta good points being made here, the good thing about AT is thers so many people post'n all this info, the bad thing is thers so many people post'n all that info, its just about too busy & like ya'll said makes it hard to navigate.

Thers plenty of info here but I like me to gather all the food for thought I can before take'n the plunge, info is why we do this rite .
