In 11 years of Turkey hunting I have never been sitting side by side someone and "pulled a double." I usually set up the other hunter to shoot, or I set up to shoot. I have called one in for a buddy, went and got breakfast, and come back and killed one myself in the same morning, but thats as close as I've gotten. How many of you have pulled a "true double"? What was your set up like?

I have been fortunate enough to be a part of four true doubles. The first one I let my buddy shoot first and immediately followed. The second one was a classic 1, 2, BOOM. The third one, at LBL, the birds came in to my immediate left and got nervous so I shot and he spun around the tree and killed the other long beard as it tried to fly away. Another hunt I filmed my buddy kill one and went to another place and I scored. Also have a great hunt on film where two good friends doubled on two with 1, 2 BOOM.

When I got started turkey hunting at 17 I had a brother that was 7 years old that followed me everywhere. I like turkey hunting alone at times, but there's nothing better than sharing an exciting hunt with someone, esspecially a kid.

I have done a triple an i know not many people belive that but i got pics i know this pic has been posted like 50 times but isnt its just an awsome pic to look at 3 guys side by side all shot at same time

Pulled it off many many times. Always sit next on the same tree, have one person designated as firing squad leader to call the shot, and let the birds fully commit to 20 yards or so.

It is harder then you would think, it seems that the second shooter gets rattled by the incredible impact of the first shot fired, and many times misses. If I am not calling the shot, I wait for just a split second after the first shot to make sure I have my wits about me before I shoot.

Watched these two birds for almost 2 hours as they went from one end of the field to the other.
They were actually in the field while we set up our decoy.

We had to let 9 jakes walk by and then watched as the two longbeards busted through the wad of them and strutted / gobbled up to the decoy.

I shot too early and then we had a misfire on the other gun and we still managed to pull it off.
21 and 20 pounds, 10 1/2" and 10 1/4" beards, 1 1/4" spurs.

Left there and stretch caught a 50 pound catfish two days later.
Good week.

This was another good weekend spent in the woods too.
Not as dramatic, they came in and we killed 'em.
Took another one the next day too.

That would be impossible for me because I turkey hunt alone. That could change this season! ;)

I'm 20 minutes from Jacks Creek. :D ;) Let me know if you need company.

Ain't no turkeys in Jacks Creek!

I graduated from Adamsville High School a few decades ago!

more of a solo hunter myself,, im sure it would be fun ,, worrying about yourself is hard enough,, will take my son this year,,, dont want nobody taking " my deer or turkey"..

The first time I ever got my girlfriend to go turkey hunting with me, we doubled. I saw her get more worked up and excited than i had in a long time.

got a double 2 times, first time, called in three birds in three different set ups and the second time shot at the same time two londbeards and three jakes came in and the jakes was left behind to grow up.
