Ok I bought a Moultrie trail cam from a buddy a couple years ago and have never used it.

I have no clue how to work it other than turn it on????

Uses a 6 volt battery.

Fixing to go get a card and battery and carry it to the farm and put it out.

The switch has power on and aim on either side.

Anyone know what the aim is?

Wish I had a book for it.

If nobody steals it I will be surprised but I am gonna put it out anyway.

Any tips for this particular camera?

Agreed x3! I bought my first cam ever back in June. Put it out july 11. went and check it on the 21st, I had 555 pictures. and some NICE bucks. Put a new card in, went back a week later with my dad to help him on his stands and decided to look at my cam, I just couldn't help it. Had almost 100 more pics. of even bigger and better deer. It has now been two weeks, and every day I slow down, I just wonder what is on there now.

I also keep trying to find new cams for good prices to put out other places

good luck with an addiction.

The aim is for the ir beam that will come on when selected, helping to pinpoint where the pics will be focused. You'll also want to change batteries about every 7-10 days if its like the 6v batts I've been using on the moultrie I've just started using. The best performance so far has been 751 pics over 7 days before dying. YMMV

Well we got it put out, set the aim where we liked it and best I can tell we set it right.

Not sure though because we left, drove the four wheeler down one side of the small field and then came back and it wouldn't take our picture.

Rather anti-climatic to say the least.

I went ahead and left it out but I highly doubt we will have any pics.

Guess I will check on buying one, dunno.

Any bets on whether an older Moultrie that hasn't been used in a couple of years actually works?
