Previous owner lost one of the bolts holding the foot stirrup on.
Also, check the rubber coated metal tab used to hold down the rear of the bolt. The rubber was torn on mine, so I took it off to redip it. Found that the original mounting holes were not drilled correctly, so the tab would not lay flat under the scope mount. A couple of minutes with a rat-tail filed fixed it. (Now I know why the previous owner sold it, he couldn't keep a scope zero on it.)
