Ok, my Covert Code Black just recently texted me these 2 pictures. Disregard the date/time on the pictures because I forgot to set it on the camera. The first darker picture was received tonight at 6:50pm CDT. The second lighter picture was received 4 minutes later at 6:54pm CDT. Why is the second picture so much more visible than the first pictures when it was taken 4 minutes later this evening? This is not the first time this has happened in the early evening. This is a black flash camera.

My black flash will also get confused sometimes with exposure in low light. I'll get some black flash pics mixed with mostly dark, underexposed day pics around dawn or dusk. My cam is a primos

I know what you are talking about, but the weird thing with the two pics I posted is that neither one appears to be a black flash pic. It's like all of the sudden a whole bunch of light showed up 4 minutes later in the evening. I don't get it.

Were those two pics the first pics triggered since the prior night?

Yes
I'm guessing a glitch in the programming that made the first pic underexposed (camera expected more light) and then it detected the change in light and adjusted exposure. Just a guess

The cameras often meter off a first pic. The first pic will be under or over-exposed and then the camera "fixes" the exposure on later pictures. But that's all a part of each model's programming, so each model will see a different pattern. But it is a common pattern.

Ok, that makes sense. Sometimes it also happens in the morning and then the next pic is fine.

I always set my cameras to take multiple burst-mode pictures with each trigger. The first picture in the series is often exposed wrong (over or under), but then the camera fixes the exposure on all the following burst-mode pics. These first-pic exposure problems always occur when light is not optimal, such as in the mornings and evenings (too much light for a IR image, but not enough light for a full daylight exposure setting).

I do have the camera set on 3-shot burst mode, but the Covert Code Black only texts you the first picture in each burst series. I just need to hope that any big bucks that come around early morning and early evening stay on the scene long enough to get caught by a 2nd burst series.
