Guys- thanks for all of the info you pass onto the members and onlookers. I have limited turkey hunting experience with limited success and this season has been exciting as well frustrating. This morning I counted 5 different gobblers, saw 3 of them with hens but never thought about taking the safety off my gun. Can you please answer me this- Is it possible to pattern mature gobblers with hens soon after fly down? How do you call late in the morning after 10:00 and in the afternoons? Last question- could geese nesting near a pond scare and keep turkeys away from that immediate area? Thanks in advance and God bless.

I'm no pro....

Find out if they are roosting in the same area....that will answer the pattern question.

With that being said as season gets later-hens will go to nest mid morning to early morning which makes big mature gobblers searching for love almost a hole in one to kill if they gobble your set up right and/or its your time?

Not much info but if you like me any info is good, I have been after em for 11 seasons and learn more each year just by going.

Thanks S&P- I watched them fly off the roost this morn- but on the other side of the fence. I watched them gobble and walk away with hens, later to have them come back so I snuck up to them too close and got busted. All during that time a single hen behind me down the hill not making a peep Like you learning new lesson about every time I go out.

i think spit took the words right out of my mouth, but for me the last two gobblers i killed was by getting close enough to the flock and challenging the dominant hen,now some people say that the hen pulls the gobbler away and thats true but if you can get close enough to her flock she will come in and challenge thus bringing the gobbler in.i get aggressive with her when she talks i cut her off and get louder ,really pisses them off.this works great for me
