Been thinking of this. I can make tube calls, single or double reed or whatever, that are half decent. I called in and killed all my turkeys that I killed with them so far (1 spring jake and 3 fall hens) not including all the non killed birds I have called with them.
The calls are made of bamboo cane approx 1.25 inches wide and around 3 inches long. The reed is cheap latex but I always make replacement patches. Held on by a thick tough rubber band. Sounds great with a little tuning and practice. Last spring I had a double reed that made the best yelp I have done (in my humble opinion).
I was wondering if anyone would buy one if I made a few and advertised them in the classifieds. If so then how much would you pay. Obviously not very high because they are not as fancy as the expensive wood lathe made, stained custom calls. But not 5 bucks or less because I'd lose money with the classified fee. I was thinking around 10 or 15 but realistically, how much would you pay if you wanted one.
Be honest because I wont waste the time if there isn't enough interest. I know tube calls are not very popular anyway but I had to ask, the thought has been nagging me for a while. Would you buy a custom bamboo tube call with spare reeds made by an amateur or not, and if so, how much would you be willing to pay without being generous.
