Have not done much turkey hunting in the rain and tomorrow morning looks to be pretty wet. Anything you should do differently when it is raining?

:super: this. I've set and watched turkeys just sit down in the middle of a field during a rain.

Turkeys tend to migrate to more open areas during and after a rain, in particular a light steady rain. When I am not hunting, which is rare, I like to ride around and do a turkey inventory of sorts for the general area to get an idea of what the population is. Good luck with your morning, it looks wet for a lot of us.

Like others have said, they will go to open areas. However, when it's a heavy rain, they will head towards a stand of pines to ride it out. As soon as it stops, they will head back out to an opening and preen themselves.

I hunted in the storms on Wednesday and had an awesome hunt. The gobbler stayed in the field during the rain and hammered every time it thundered.
