With younger kids and a wife in the healthcare industry I have gotten to hunt very few first lights in the last few years.  If birds weren't killable after early hours id be in a bind but it seems to work out.  You miss the gobbling on the roost but the turkeys are there all day.  I can go anytime I can - daylight to dark.
