ok do they roost in the same area night after night? do they pitch up or down hill or do they prefer one way or the other. I know its easier to call them uphill than down but these things here have me confused!!

Sometimes they do , sometimes they dont. Sometimes they will fly up, sometimes they will fly down. Sometimes they will fly plumb across the holler to the next ridge, there just aint no set thing. One of my favorites though is if they are roosted on a point, lot of times they will just fly down on that point and strut and such there for a while but you never can tell. You just have to know the country like the back of your hand and try to get on the bench he is on.

Position is everything. Try to get on their level. Worry less about callin and more about position. If you get good position, all you need to do is cluck softly and scratch in the leaves. Best two turkey calls you could ever learn.
