Ok, I switched to rage 3 blades this year, absolutely love the performace.. killed one and missed one.

Bought a set of replacement blades ($20 bucks)

Kit comes with new tips, blades, screws and allen wrench

First arrow, deer kill arrow.
insert supplied allen wrench into first blade screw
screw comes out fine
Second screw... wont go in, grab a needle to pick out what ever is in the head.... still wont go in???? maybe stripped
third blade... comes out fine

Go to tip, allen wrench supplied is not the right size.. wtf
go to basement and grab assortment of tiny allen wrenches.. ok find a 1.27 mm that fits.. ok tip comes out.

will get back to this broad head later

Second broad head.. missed deer high and stuck in mountain dirt

all blades come out fine

Tip comes out fine with customer supplied allen wrench
start replacing blades...
notice new screws have a bit larger head.. supplied wrench fits but is a flared head screw vs factory smooth thread screw.. no big deal as I can see
replace tip, screw head is also larger and does not recess as well as factory screw but should not matter.
replace torn up o-ring.. use needle from first arrow to thread it on.. not a big deal, goes on good and all blades lock back in good.. broad head ready for next hunt.

back to first broadhead... still cant get last blade out. went back to basement to find the smallest screw extractor I have... didnt work, ended up boring out the top of the factory screw and not leaving the threads... tip is junk now..

Will be copy and be pasting this post to Rage and see how thier customer service is..

3 broad heads, 39.99
3 replament blades, 19.99
one kill
one miss
60 bucks + and only two good broadheads left..

Im not knocking the rage because I love the performace but the blade replacement may not be worth it... anyone else replaced blades yet?

I will let ya'll know what rage customer service comes back with.

I agree, I am calling them this morning to talk about this very topic. I have some I need to replace as well. Pure horse crap!

I wrestled with a few last night too. If there is not a better solution I will quit shooting them, period.

Went to Bass Pro today to buy replacement pack. When I saw it was 20$ and a fair bit of work or 40$ and screw n' go I bought new Rages.

Sure is allot of money to spend on disposable broadheads when the blades are that hard to replace . That is my biggest knock against Rage heads as well . Slick Tricks and Strikers are much more durable and the blades are easily replaced .

Guys...TRY Magnus Stinger 4-blade. You will thank me.

I have NO stock in the company, no gain, just trying to help!

Gotta agree with Radar. Plenty of broadhead options that are more durable than Rage, and they cost less so it's a win-win!

Those new blood-runners look pretty good. How about the durability on those bad boys anybody know?

durable as heck, my friends have been shooting them the last few weeks. shot through 3/4 inch plywood and still sharp and not dings or bent blades. And to beat all they fly true, IMO better flight than the rage, i can hit a good group with the rage but a better one with the blood runners.

I BOUGHT REPLACEMANT BLADES AND DIDINT HAVE ANY PROBLES! BUT I SHOOT 2 BLADE! CAME RIGHT OUT AND NEW BLADES WENT RIGHT IN! USE OLD SCREWS! I LOVE EM! PLUS ONCE U GET OLD BLADES OUT, U CAN SHARPEN THEM UP, NO U GOT MORE BLADES TO USE!

Well, I heard back from Rage, they said they would replace the broadhead that stripped out on me, very timely response so I cant say I will stop using them because so far I love the performance... yes the replacement part is a bit of a pain and they are a bit pricey but Imo, they are great broadheads and will continue to use them. Also like HuntFun07 said, once you have a replacement set you can sharpen the old ones and be set.

I will continue to shoot them as I have never seen a head cut so well, even with a marginal shot.

Anyone shoot or checked out the Rocky Mtn gators, virtually the same. I have soem rages and snypers (now discontinued unfortunately), when those are done that is what i am going to.

good to know rage took care of u, and replaced it! but im like u, the performance out weighs the cons! i hate the o ring breaking every shot! but wouldnt stop using it bc of it!
