I read a lot but do not post often. But, thought this might help someone.

I use RAGE only.

Reason: Heavy short blood trail . . . easy to find deer.

I wrap a piece of DENTAL FLOSS around the middle twice and the arrows fly perfectly. Killed 3 deer with no problem using dental floss. I have it with me in the tree.

This is offered to help anyone who uses RAGE.

I'm not up to date on all the broadhead lingo so....How does dental floss help the broadhead kill a deer? or fly better?....

If I had to depend on dental floss to hold my broadhead together, then I don't think I'd have to much confidence in them. And Confidence is a big thing,You gotta be able to believe what your shooting is gonna perform.

That's kinda the way I feel. If I have to buy something and then tinker with it to get it to work right then that product is not for me. Like Cecil said! Confidence goes a long way!

Well said! This is the exact reason I have used Montec G5's for the last few years, and have never had a problem with blood trail or not finding a deer. Best of all, they fly exactly like my field points!

10-4 when I buy something, especially at top dollar, last thing you should have to do is work on it before you can use it!! I would recommend a good fixed head, ready to kill right out of the package with no chance for failure!!

Who are yall to say that Memphistinker isn't confident in his way of doing things. I believe the man was trying to help, but I understand rage haters have to speak their mind. Probly the reason the man never posts on here. We don't really care if you use G5's or whatever else. It doesn't matter to us. He was just trying to help RAGE shooters.

I'm not a Rage hater at all. I just don't like mechanical broad heads period!

Well said, thank you!

Good tip.... will try it- yet to take a deer with a rage but have shot a coyote and nearly cut it in half !!! thanks for passing idea along, BTW he sounds confident to me

I don't use anything at all on the Rage and my blades do not open pre maturely . I use many types of broadheads , from Slick Tricks , G5 Strikers , to Rage with good results with all of them . Broadhead performance is all about shot placement .
I honestly get tired of the mechanical vs. fixed blade arguments , and equipment arguments in general . Thats one reason I don't post on here much anymore . Shoot what works for you !

cant argue with that....it is the never ending debate...pretty much like rules and regs in the Deer forum.

my only issue with any of them in $ and that extends to ALL broadheads. $40 for 3 broadheads is just crazy to me. I use to get a 3 pack of muzzy for $13 when i first started bow hunting.

I also agree the $40 for 3 broadhead thing seems to be the going thing. When something seems to work, they go up on the price. I have used the 2 blade Rage and they open and kill very well but I got tired of having to insall the blades back. When I got to the stand I would have a few blades just dangling.

I agree with radar, I have never had problems with my rages and I'm up to 12 deer with them. But that's a good tip for anyone having trouble! Nice post! Also the best place I found to buy replacement o rings is northern tool, you can buy 100s real cheap. Comes with different sizes to pic from!

Same here! And as for peoples opinions, if you post on a forum, you will definitely get others opinions, isnt that what the forum is for?? Discussion??

I don't hate Rage broadheads, just the price. But in their defense, my brother uses them, and talk about some holes and blood trails!!!! If I didn't have to do things on the cheap, I would use the 3 blades like he does. Until my little girls grow older, I eill just stick to Muzzy's

I bought two packages of Rage broadheads in 2009 and all the blades were pretty dull, at least more than for my liking. Grim Reapers have top notch blades on their heads sharp right out of the package. I killed 3 deer and a turkey with Grim Reapers so far and did not have a bent blade yet. I still like to replace the blades after every pass through on an animal and it is easy to do on the Reapers.
