Well I have read and read about all the pros and cons people have experienced with the rage broadheads! Well I picked up a pack while back and got to test one this eve at the hiwasee refuge! Results: 25yd slight quartering away shot
complete pass through 2.5" entry slice
2.5" exit slice, went completely through
far shoulder blade and buried up 8" in ground,
blades looked to be unscathed! Great 40yd blood
trail with a 6 pt buck at the end! Very pleased
with the results and will use again!

I put a rage 2 blade in a 130 lb doe yesterday evening, as usual, the rage destroyed her! As she ran off, I saw intestines hanging out of her. She ran 50 yards and died. The hit was marginal, but it worked out.

I shot a big doe this morning with a 2 blade rage. She came running and I stopped her at 13 yrds. I let it fly and CRACK. She turned and took off and I could see the arrow sticking out of both sides. I knew she wouldn't go far. Wrong. I gave her a hour to expire before I got down. Make a long story short I spent almost 3 hours bloodtrailing her before she quit bleeding. She went about 300 yrds until the blood stopped. It was drop, drop, puddle, drop the whole time. I wonder if the Rage expanded or not? I have heard so many good stories about Rage. Needless to say I didn't find her and I'm pretty bumbed.

Coworkers 14 year old daughter killed a spike yesterday with her crossbow. He sends me a pic of a bloody X-bow bolt buried up in the food plot. Out of curiousity I asked what broadhead he had tipped her bolts with. I was somewhat surprised when he told me a Rage 3 blade, I was even more surprised when I learned it was a complete pass through, breaking one rib on the way out. Deer ran about 60 yards before crashing. I'm no fan of expandables on crossbow bolts but in the case neither was the deer.

I bought a pack of the thee blades this (wanted the 2 blade but grabbed the wrong package). I hope to see how they work tomorrow evening on the first brown one to come by.

Just shot one tonight with a rage.I hit her back around the middle of the body. Not much of a blood trail so I left her until the morning. Can't say I'm real impressed with them right now.But I need to shoot a few more before I make up my mind on them.

Found the deer and still not real happy with rage so far.No blood trail plus i didn't shoot all the way through the deer.it should have the deer was only 20 or so yards away.Gonna see how it works on the next one or two and might change back to my old heads.

I would like to hear more details. Was guts plugging the hole? Where was the BH lodged at? etc.

YOU CAN NOT MAKE ANY ASSUMPTIONS OR DECISIONS WITHOUT EXTENSIVE FIELD TESTING ON ANY PIECE OF EQUIPMENT.

That said...I have done such testing and I am telling you, after HUNDREDS of bow kills with ALL kinds of broadheads...ANY RAZOR sharp LARGE diameter accurate and ESPECIALLY rearward deploying blades-broadheads are ABSOLUTELY the BEST there is!

But man are they expensive.
