I shot a bunch this morning and put on a Rage practice tip. I found it did not group with my field points. It seemed to be rather inconsistent. I noticed everytime I pulled it out of the target there was target material lodge in the practice head that was hard to get out. Anybody ever have problems with Rage or the practice tip not hitting with field points? I was shooting at 20 yards and it was 3-4 inches off the mark, typically high and a little right.

When I shot them I couldnt get past the hissing sound they made. Shot good and yes there was all kinds of junk inside the tip.

Way back when before I stopped using them, I had no problem with their flightthey always had the same point-of-impact as my field points, both the practice head and the broadheads as well. Two things came to mindfirst, is your bow tuned? Secondly, have you tried the point on a different arrow because an arrow's inconsistent flight patterns will be amplified if it has any abnormalities in it?

Assuming you are right handed and your bow is properly tuned, hitting high and to the right could be due to torquing the bow with your grip hand as you release the arrow.

Bow is tuned...I will keep messing with it.

I would say it's not if you are getting two groups. Not insulting your tuning abilities or your pro shop, but just saying this is where I would start. The rage practice heads didn't hit dead on with my field points for me either. Mine hit a little bit left. So I did several "walk back" tuning sessions with field points and found that my centershot was in fact off a little bit. So Keep messing with it, but remember to mark your rest (or whatever you're tuning) so that you can get back to where you started if you end up too far out of whack. Also move things in very small incraments.

This is before i started tuning. Rage practice heads on the left field points on the right. 25yds...I think.

I went by the local shop today and my string had stretched and had some cam lean. Jeremy at the Archery Den twist the cable a couple times and got me back in spec and everything is fine.

Everything is good...I have between 500 and 1000 shots on my Z7 Magnum and the string has finally settled. It got out of spec and had cam lean but Jeremy fixed it and it is shooting nock busting groups at 20.
