The Ragweed has finally got me! What is yalls Cure for Sinus/ Allergies? I don't know if ill be able to Drag myself out of bed in the morning and sit in my blind feeling like this!

I'm extremely allergic to Ragweed...I get on a daily combo of Zyrtec and Nasacort spray starting at the end of July...Been doing this for years with great results.
I will remember this next year!

Half a Zyrtec daily starting in August and anytime I mow, blow leaves or just stir up the dust I do a sinus rinse after I shower. It helps alot, but sometimes I still get hit with allergy symptoms.

Covid test maybe??? 😂

The best thing I've found to prevent and minimize allergies is a nasal/sinus rinse. If I don't do a rinse then I end up loaded up and knocked out on benadryl.

Allergist told me years ago they thought ragweed was one of my worst allergies and I believe them. Just wish they could've got the allergy shots right for me. They did not a thing for me.

So every night I take a Zyrtec or Xyzal and I use Flonase regularly as well. When it's bad like now I often will take an Allegra first thing in the morning as well. Stuff really helps! Nasal cup or some other way to rinse out sinus with saline mix is also helpful after being out in it, especially if doing yardwork.

Basically you gotta really stay on top of it or ragweed will really do a number on you. Can't wait for rain and enough cold weather to stop it for the year.

I grew up with terrible allergies all my life. I started taking Claritin when it came out. It kinda worked but then quit working for me. My sister said to try Zyrtec. I took them a couple times in the morning or even middle of the day, but it worked so well at drying up my nasal drip/ running nose that it made my eyes so dry I couldn't wear my contact lenses. That really sucked so I tried a couple more brands. With no success I went back to Zyrtec. I take one every night when I go to bed after I take my contacts out. It's been a game changer for my allergies. Going from every spring with a stuffy nose and a running nose to sneezing fits where I would sneeze 10-15 times in a row, to like zero to 1 sneezes a day has been a game changer for me! I buy the generic Zyrtec at sams club. You get like 2 200 count bottles for $40. Best money I have ever spent!!

Lots of good advice on here. I hope I can add some for someone.

I have terrible allergies. April/May in TN makes me want to move out of state for a while. My doctor recommended I take sinus meds at half of the labels recommended dosage (example take 24 hour Claritin every 12 hours). This was an absolute game changer for me. Not a cure of allergies but allows me to function outdoors better than I ever could before.

I used to get a lot of sinus infections as well. I had to use the decongestant version of sinus meds because I couldn't even use the regular versions as they would stop me up thus, infection. I finally got fed up the day Walmart Pharm accused me of being a criminal. I went to a chiropractor and after working on me for a while, I no longer have to take decongestants. I still have crazy reactions but the way my body moves the gross stuff out is much more normal now

I'm extremely allergic to Ragweed...

I "feel your pain", but ironically,
I'm extremely allergic to fescue pollen, but only mildly allergic to ragweed.

Ragweed is actually one of the best forbs growing naturally in TN as "deer food".
Even though I have a slight allergy to it, for the past several years have been encouraging its growth as a native forb (so that we have less reliance on summertime clover/legume food plots).

I'd rather have a plot of young ragweed than a plot of Ladino clover. Ragweed is often preferred (by deer) over clover, and is much more drought tolerant.

A daily Zyrtec is currently keeping my allergies manageable, but during May & June, some times have to wipe myself out with Benadryl if get around too much fescue (which is EVERYWHERE).

I take a daily Zyrtec, and after mowing during the summer—or any extended period of time outdoors this time of year, Flonase spray. But I use the generic from Costco/Sam's. Same goes for the Zyrtec.
