Y'all ever kill birds in the rain? I never have but j am gonna try tomorrow. Just wanted to know if I was wasting my time r not. U have killed birds after a rain.... But never during

Birds were seen in pastures here this morning during the rain where they haven't been seen all year. So I'd say YES!

They were out like normal all day here. They might stay in the woods feeding more, but they don't hide in caves.

Well, the guy who does my taxidermy work,I just picked my buck up and as i was pulling in,he walking up the back door with a NICE gobbler...So yeah they dont care if it rains..LOL!

Absolutely. Don't expect a super exciting hunt, but it's still worth it! What would you do instead of hunting?

Me too, that's why I don't, but I'm fortunate to be able to hunt pretty much when I want. I'll wait til a better day.

Almost hit one today. He was flying low to get across highway 70 around 1:00. Saw 2 jakes waiting to see waiting to see if the big boy made it.

They probably pushed him :D !

Sure you can kill one in the rain, and I almost did yesterday evening (technically after it stopped raining) but after 6+ hours trapped in a ground blind, followed by walking around soaking undergrowth and more unexpected showers, sitting my already wet butt on wet ground against a wet tree trunk, I don't plan on hunting much rain in the future.

I haven't had much luck during rainstorms for whatever reason... my birds all go to the middle of fields and act like they've been kicked in the nuts.

Now right before the rain (especially if it is thundering in the distance), I've had some of my best hunts. Likewise, about 30 minutes after the rain ends and they've had time to fluff back out, they seem to be more than eager to make stupid mistakes and go long distances to a call.

I was on the mower today and looked up to see a nice gobbler run full speed about 1000 yards across a few fields. Saw another one pop out of the woods about 30 yards from me and he took off running in the same direction. It was raining pretty hard. I almost fell off the mower laughing at them. I couldn't hear anything over the mower and my music, but there had to be some action where they were headed. They ran right in front of a blind I left up from the weekend, but I don't think I could have hit one as fast as they were running.

Update. Well, no action what so ever during the rain. However, after the rain they all went to fields. I have six different gobblers in two fields below me. I wish the leafs would come out so I can hide better.
