Got back sunday before last. Had another awesome trip. Smallmouth, walleyer and northern pike, and we caught a ton of all of them. More Walleye than you could even begin to count, and caught everything casting, I DON'T troll.

Water was very high. This is my brother's truck on the road into LaBelles birch point camp. We put in there and run about 17 miles by boat to an island to camp on.

Rainy Lake is huge (over 1500 islands) and it is beautiful place.

This is my canyon cooler, we had all the ice we wanted and it held ice for 8 days.

My dad is 81 and he caught the most fish out of all of us. This is the biggest pike he has ever caught, we do not ever fish for pike but always catch some.

The smallmouth we caught averaged 3.75 lbs each. These are what we go for.

Rainy lake is full of walleye. you can only keep 1 per person a day, and the one has to be either between 13 to 17 inches or over 27". We had no trouble catching plenty of legal fish so we got to eat walleye (and the CHEEK MEAT) every day. It was awesome.

Also we saw and watched eagles all day every day we were there.

Always look forward to your annual Rainy Lake post each year! Unbelivable again as usual. Would love to go up there just one time in my life!

Mossyhorns, all you have to do is go. Tom Pearson at Camp Narrows would be a great person to contact. Incredible place, nice cabins, beautiful spot, boats to rent, and he is extremely knowledgeable. He and his clients kill some incredible bucks there every year also.

We have tent camped on an island every trip I have ever made.

One thing for sure, you will not see many people, maybe not any.

I'll have to check in to that. I like the idea of pulling my aluminum boat up there and tent camping on one of the islands similar to what y'all do each year.

It is a great time and I really enjoy camping on an island. We have camped for so many years that we do have an extremely comfortable, and dry as it can be if it rains, campsite.

I have seen a few 21' new bass boats with 225 and 250's at Camp Narrows. He has nice boat docks and it is no problem. This year it would have been, his boat docks were under about 4 feet of water.

Awesome place for sure, looks like you had a good trip!!!
Did you make it over to Loonhaunt or any of the small lakes off the Pipestone chain?

Winchester, those lakes were also way up. We stayed on Rainy the whole trip. I have fished Rainy for a total of about 35-40 days and have not even come close to fishing even a fraction of the lake. Rainy is a big lake, it is not the size of lake of the woods but it makes Kentucky lake look small.
