Ready!

I'm still rabbit hunting with mine. After next week I'll be ready to clean it up and get my scope and choke on and ready to sight in.

Nice picture.

Thanks! A fishing buddy of mine bought a cabin at the lake and the previous owner sold it with furniture, pictures, etc. in the deal. This was on the wall with thumb tacks. It's actually a Ducks Unlimited print. He knows I'm turkey crazy so when he saw it he took it down and brought it to me. My mother matted it and framed it.

Very nice looking guns. You know I do just fine with my plain Jane, 1,000 pound shotgun, and would never use a scope on it, but I still think those are some fine looking turkey killers.

Never say never Cat. You might someday have a need for a longer range, super tight patterning gun with some optics.
maybe someday, but not if I keep hunting woods. My only long range kills were in fields during fall season. But I won't say never because I'm not sure what ill be doing in 10 years.

I've never shot a turkey scope or otherwise. I can definately see a downfall or an upside. I think they make the gun look good.

They really help if you have trouble with keeping your cheek on the stock or you have a gun that doesn't hit dead on.
My back up turkey gun has one.
Spurhunter, are those the Simmons Diamonds ? They are pretty sweet.

I don't use a scope. I now have a Burris ff3 but on lots of hunts over the last few years I have wished many times that I had some magnifying optics to see the freaking beard on a bird within 40 yds of me. It totally sucks when the vision starts going south in your 40s.

I have no trouble with getting a follow up shot. Have doubled many times while using a scope...because I take alot of people and call for them I seldom shoot first or even try to shoot at the same time.
