? Receiver Mounted Scope on Shotgun ?

I would not play any other way.
I totally agree ---- no way would I want to go back to non-optical sights.

I'm just trying to figure why my pattern centers seem to shift a bit from shot to shot. How much is normal for pattern centers to shift?

Wrap the magazine nut/cap with leather and use a channel lock to tighten it up another click or 2. Might help
Thanks, Tim.
That's the kind of practical "tip" I was looking for.

What kind of scope are you using?
In this case, a Nikon Monarch 1.5 - 4.5 shotgun scope.
I have total faith in this scope & mounts not being the problem, but just wondering it that small amount of "play" between the interchangable barrel and reciever may be allowing the patterns to shift a few inches from shot to shot.

If this "play" is causing some shifting, it would be more significant with a receiver mounted sight vs. simply using the receiver and front bead on the end of the barrel. Without a good sighting system and lots of pattern testing, most people probably wouldn't even notice this pattern shifting.

Because of this propensity for POI shift from receiver to barrel "play", note how so many shotgun slug barrels have the scope base on the barrel instead of the receiver.
