Recoil pads

I don't know if anyone else has had this problem but I had a Sims on a riffle of my sons, it set in a closet for a while, when I went to move it it was glued to the carpet. The edges of the padding had eaten away and left a black ring on the carpet that won't come up... didn't make the wife too happy...

They do save the shoulder though.

Contact Sims, they'll replace it. You'll have to send the bad one back though. Newer ones won't do that.

Thanks UJ, so I assume you've heard of this problem before?

thanks again

Yeah, it happened on some, if not most, of the first ones. They would just turn to goo. I had one to do it and they replaced it. Ain't had any problems with them since.

Has anyone tried the sims grind-to-fit pads? Im needing a new pad but i also need to extend my length of pull about an inch so I'm thinking about getting a half inch spacer and the "nitro" sims pad which is 1.5" thick. Ive got a kick ease grind to fit pad and haven't been entirely happy with the durability, but its really for trap guns and not field guns

I had the same problem witht he sims melting in my gun cabinet. I figured there was something in my cabinet but maybe it is just the way they are made.

Yep, sounds like the early ones had his problem, I'm going to do as Jesse said and try and contact them about sending it back.
