Anybody have any experience with the HC500 vs 600? I am going to buy one but do not know if it worth the extra $100 for true black flash.

I have the HC600 and love it so far. This fall will be my third season to use it. It has one sole purpose for me - monitoring scrapes from late October to January. My opinion is if you are going to splurge on a Reconyx, and I can totally understand why some choose not to, then go ahead and put an extra $100 with it and get the Black Flash. I suggest giving The Huntin Shack (TN company) a hard look as they offer free shipping and throw in $100 worth of accessories (security box, python cable, 16GB SD card) that you will most likely utilize. You will have to pay sales tax (~$50) if you live in TN. Their website says currently out of stock. It can never hurt to call them and see when the Reconyx cams will be back in stock and hear it from the horses mouth.

Best of luck with your final decision as I can just about guarantee that you will be thoroughly pleased with either of the two.

Get the Black Flash. I have 2. I wouldnt trade them for anything. If your going to spend the money, get the black flash. If you want a red-glow cam, get a cheaper one. No sense in getting a nice expensive red-glow camera, in my opinion anyways!

I have watched mature bucks stay or walk past my salt lick for over 8 hours in one night...never to leave the camera site for more than 20 minutes. I never would have guessed a deer would spend that much time on one ridge in one night. I also wouldnt have known that if I had one of my red glow cameras sitting there. You learn alot about deer behavior. It is well worth the money.
