This morning I picked up a tube of crickets, and headed out for some bluegill. I was fishing alone today. That's unusual, as my wife or daughter usually comes along. Left the dock and headed for some flooded trees, I wanted the shade. Got in my spot, baited up, and immediately cast right into the closest tree. Figured it was going to be one of those days. Next cast, fish on. Nearly every cast after that, produced a nice bluegill. Went through a tube of crickets in no time. I know there are bigger fish out there, but I love catching big bluegill on an ultralight. They have alot of fight for their size. It was a really good morning.

Getting back into fishing. For me it's about what we like to eat. Panfish is the target. Will probably hunt less this fall as the family likes fish more than deer meat. The early hotter weather I may just stay on the water.
