SEC recruiting is other worldish. I continue to be optimistic that my Vols will end up in the top 15 in the country. But, even if they do, that will likely barely get them in the top 10 in the SEC. It is hard to make up ground at that rate. GA State cost us some kids that could have helped.

But, with that being said, I'm not that big on the stars and ratings. There are some teams out there that never break the top 25 that do well every year. Coaching, development, and kids actually wanting to bust their tail at that school may come close to trumping the star power. But, a big dose of great Jimmies and Joes certainly doesn't hurt.

Yeah I agree the more blue chip 5* players you get the better chance you have at landing a super star type player.

Some of these 4 and 5*players will never be heard about again after signing day. some will get in trouble others will transfer, a few just wont be any good and get replaced by 3*guys

You guys realize Juan Jennings was reated higher as a dual threat QB then joe burrow and Lamar Jackson coming outta High school....how did that work out.

Overall I think the recruiting services get it right. There are some that slip through the cracks but the top 4 teams every year are normally around the top 10 in recruiting.

Heart goes along way. I strongly believe that a 5-star can be outplayed by a 3-star guy trying to prove his self. Those stars don't mean nothing really. Just gotta buy what the coaches are selling and wanna do what's best for your team.

I agree they get it right with the ones that have similar evaluations. No doubt some don't live up to hype and some over perform. Some kids just don't get the same exposure, therefore will not get the higher ratings.

With the new transfer options, everything is changing.
