I don't have one on my gun but I have hunted with my dad's scoped gun when he doesn't go because I like it. He has a cheap truglo, they are only like 30$-40$. It has no magnification, and you dont have to keep your head down on the stock. Field of view is not hindered that much by it.
If it is sighted in, wherever that red/green dot is, it will hit. Just carry back up batteries in your vest. I thought it would be a problem about batteries running dead, but im so concisous about it when I use it that it has never happened.
I recommend the red dot scopes.
