Any one used a red dot scope for shotgun? What are the pro and cons? What brand do you recommend?

Well I am not going to disagree with bsl. I have heard alot of people say those things. I think it all has to do with shooting style.
FOR ME!!!, it is all an accuracy issue. A red-dot sight or a scope gives me better accuracy. So with that being said...

I have no cheek or recoil issues with a red-dot , but a scope hitting my eye brow will never happen again. so red-dot

I have never had issues with a battery, Turn it on when needed, hasn't affected my hunting style. But also remember to turn it off. I look at it as the safety. It is always off till a bird is near.

Rain and fog days,,, I put the flip-up caps on.

Oh and I like propoints. I like the looks of them and they have always worked for me.

I would rather have a scope, but I think with the recoil from a 3,5 I am afraid it would get me so I have not tried it.

lol, I like a scope too and have been bitten. I have a scare that I won't show to prove it. lol, a scope on a 835 mossturd shooting 3 1/2 mags, NEVER again.

lol, sissy? lol, I have been shooting mossturds since about 1976. NNow the "Never again" is on a scoped 835. I have 2 835s and just shot 20 rds yesterday. 20 rds of 3.5 winchester supremes #5s and #6s. I will say the newer butt pad on the 835s are almost as good as the sims limbsavers.

I had the same question on here last season. I decided to give the red dot a try. It only cost me 20 bucks. The best 20 I have spent. So far I really enjoy the scope. I can open both eyes while aiming. My head can be up or down. Once patterned it puts the shot exactly where it needs to be.
