After missing one on the third day of season and hardly any gobbling from hemmed up birds i decided to go for a mid day hunt today hoping to find a lonely gobbler but never could get anything to gobble so I just sat down to take a break and do some blind calling,15 mins later I hear drumming and this old dude came strutting to 35 yards. One of the better birds I have killed, and my first double bearded bird. He was 18lbs, beards were 10.5 and 8.5 inches long and he had sharp spurs just a tad over 1.25 inches. God is great! Finally got to take some kill pics with my almost 5mo old boy.
