Anyone have one? Ive been in the market for awhile, just nothing really catches my eye. The one that does though is the redhead blackout, so im wondering if anyone has anh opinions on them

I recently sold my switchback, an old bowtech tomkat, and a alpine. I just dont want to drop another 1000-1200 on a bow when they all kill the same, just looking for opinions

Red Head is just a private label for a bow made by a major bow company. Usually they are a less costly item but that does not reflect on their quality.

I've heard they are good bows but man I just can't own anything that says redhead on it. Just a personal choice I guess.

Why could you not own anything that says redhead on it?

I own a Redhead Kryptik Pro. One of the best shooting bows I have ever shot. The Blackout took the place of the Kryptik Pro. I have shot the Blackout many times and I really like the way it shoots. IBO is 333 fps. The kinetic energy from this bow is phenomenal. BUT MY ONLY COMPLAINT (which is a big one). The string sits very high on the wheel. If you torque the bow whatsoever the string will come off. My advice would be to go with a Toxik, which is another great bow, or wait to see if Diamond will fix the problem in next year's model. Redhead Bows are great bows. You can't go wrong with them. Even with the Blackout. Just be mindfull not to turn your wrist when you are pulling it back. Hope this helps.

Well their bows don't really fit in that as they are made by very good bow company's. IMO redhead line of clothes and hunting gear is not much better then dicks line. You get what you pay for

I agree with REN. Some Redhead stuff is as good as any other brand while other items suffer in quality. I wish they would come out with a good line of American made camo. I would pay the extra money for that.

Its your opinion... so who am I to judge right. Anyways, I cant tell you much about lightweight clothing as I just by natural gear on sale or other decent lighweight clothing to archery hunt out of and try to keep it all as scent free as possible (not much to clothing that time of year). If you want to talk about serious clothing like for waterfowl hunting which i do a few dozen days out of the year in december and january then I can tell you that Redhead is very solid clothing. Just like the bows, it is just clothing made by a top of the line manufacturer with the redhead name stitched on it. Very high quality just like the clothes it is copied after. Bought a 1/3 of the price. Just my 2 cents.

Gondo you may be right but I personally have never had a set of redhead clothes or boots worth what I spent on them especially boots. I too spend some time in the duck blind and I'd take browning or cabelas long before anything rehead for close to the same price. I got some cabelas mt050 clothes last year and wow what a difference AND they come with a lifetime warranty. My point is for the cost you can get as good or better clothes and boots then redhead. From scopes to knives their name has gone downhill over the years IMO.

im just looking to save a few bucks. i actually have my eye on another z7 xtreme on at, but i liked the look/feel of the blackout. i agree its 50-50 with the redhead brand and have never shopped at dicks, but i do like the bps xps series of clothing they have

Your probably right, the quality of everything (except a few) has gone down over the years. What really pisses me off is when you are getting a good american made product and then you start getting the same product but the quality starts to slip... only to find out it has been manufactured overseas... sad.

I am with bowriter on this.
I think the older you get, the more crap you have experienced.
When I started in archery, about 30 years ago, state of the art was a bear whitetail compound. There is still one hanging in my garage that we use to bowfish. It shoots good enough.

Today, through advertising, we all "need" the latest and greatest in cars, computers, and bows. We spend too much money on useless bells and whistles.

Yet, there are still GREAT bows (and cars and computers) at good prices. In fact, except for the brand X name, and possibly some cosmetics, they are probably identical in quality and dependability as far as use for deer killing.
Same with arrows.

Because in the end, it is not the bow, it is the shooter.

With this said, I feel certain that Red Head makes a bow that will fit the bill when it comes to your hunting needs.

Just as I am sure Reflex (Hoyt), and Mission (Mathews) and others make great bows at a cheaper price.

I own a redhead kronik! I also own a Hoyt! The redhead is lighter and I love the single cam. The deer do not seem no the difference! Both shoot holes thru them.
1,000 will buy me a bunch more than a bow for hunting! You could buy a bow and a heck of a muzzleloader for that money plus some accessories.

Shoot what you like and what shoots best for you. I think a bunch of people that shoot the newest every year are getting more of a placebo than upping their game.

My 3 year old kronik blows right thru them and is as accurate as the shooter that shoots it.

It's a tool buddy. If two hammers look the same and function the same and get the job done. You make your decision, I will make mine!
