I have never seen the amount of negative reviews for a Matthews bow. I understand that it is a speed bow and may not be as smooth as others. But I have read somewhere in the neighborhood of ~ 300 reviews. The overwhelming 2 main negatives are draw cycle and hand shock. Some say that it is just the worse that they have felt and some swear that it is silky smooth. Now whether or not the bow is in tune has a lot to do with it but what are you guys hearing, seeing, or feeling?

It's different from from the trademark smoothness Mathews is known for. I really think if another manufacturer built the 6.5 it would be looked at differently. I shot it and noticed that both the 6.5 and 7 are a bit rougher on the draw than the Drenalin, DLD, DXT, etc. That's to be expected though for the speed gains. It's like comparing the Bowtech speed mods to the smooth mods or the Hoyt Cam 1/2 to the Spiral Cam.

I've heard that the harmonic stabilizer (bottom dampener) and an STS type string stopper makes a real difference on the Reezen models.

I'm honestly considering a 60# 6.5. I could get the same KE at a lower draw weight than with my Drenalin. I could also drop down to the low 50# range for turkey hunting.

Shoot it and let us know what you think of it.

I can't wait to shoot it. I just had a hernia surgery yesterday so i am a bit sore at the moment. I live in Fayetteville so i will drive to Columbia to Steves Gun and Archery.

I just traded for a Reezen 7.0. I can honestly say it's quickly becoming my favorite hunting bow that I've owned. It's very similar to the Drenalin, but with a tiny hump right before it breaks over. To me, it's not noticeable at all. The first Reezens Mathews produced didn't have the Harmonic Stabilizer in it so there was quite a bit of hand shock. Now that they've added this to all the Reezens, an overwhelming majority of the shock is gone. I've shot one with and without the Stabilizer and there is a huge difference. Also, to my ears the Reezen is quite a bit quieter than the Drenalin. I'm really impressed with this bow. Like Jay said, shoot it and let us know what you think.

A soft wall huh? Well i have read many that say it is stone dead stiff and if it feels spongy that maybe the draw length is a bit long? Thanks so much for the response. I am trying to get as much feed back as possible before i go and pull one back and drop some cash.

could have been the dl was too long i just shot it once or twice at the shop, but compared to the bows I have now..the bw was almost non existant. it felt great in hand. It has a pretty good "hump" before it falls in the valley. not much going on at the shot either which is good. just not the one for me. hope you like it if you get it.

Make sure the bow you shoot is the right draw length. If it's too long, it's obviously not going to feel right to you. Make sure it fits you before you make a final judgement of it.

No that is my final judgement. I bought a 101st that had a 29.5" draw lenth. I am 28". I shot it anyway for about 3weeks while I waited for my mods to come in. Even at 1.5" too long that bow had a much better back wall than the reezen set at 29. I know what a back wall feels like. The reezen didnt have much of one.

After you get that bow fully loaded let me know what you think. Are you going with a T-series quiver? Also have you thought about putting a srting tamer on it? Thanks man and good luck

With your string tamer is it a regular (black) or is it a sr (camo)? Thanks again. Those Norway products look well made.

Thnaks man. I was looking at that one (regular) and the black sr. model that has a mathews HD installed in it.
