First regret... standing up real quick and spooking the bird that snuck in quiet to 30 yards. Couldn't tell if it was a jake or tom, but it was pretty big.

Second regret... eating a whole bag of Paqui haunted ghost pepper chips last night. The pain has hit me twice... [emoji15]

The weather is really nice though. Anyone hearing any gobbles? I heard a few on roost and it's been quiet since.

Heard birds at two different spots in middle tn. One gobbled until 8:00 or so. Thought finally had him committed but he hung up. Turns out there was a creek between us. Not sure if that kept him from coming in or something else. Moved and heard another but not on property we could hunt.

Buddy we took and dropped off at another spot killed his first solo bird. I can't wipe the smile from his face.

I regret having to work on a day like today.

Gasman and I had 5-6 birds gobbling. Prob gobbled 100 times. Had a jake sneak in on us and then a gobbling hen at 50ish yds. Crazy

Might go back after eating in a few

Super slow for me. A few gobbles on the limb then dead as a hammer. The bird I killed drummed his way in...never gobbled. They might be in that stage now so just because you don't hear gobbling don't assume he's not there. They can be sneaky this time of the breeding season.

Had one die like a champ this morn. Lots of gobbles and strut action from him. No others heard

The only spot that is close to home hasn't been productive. I saw 2 hens there a couple years ago, but no jakes or toms. The adjoining private is baited for hunts. I know they play by the rules and stop feeding before season but I think it has drawn them from the area. I did see 1 turkey yesterday on private property as I walked out. A long way from any public so I just watched him. Got to learn Royal Blue again on the atv trails. Going to hunt it some next Spring.

the turkeys aren't gonna hang around for bait that has been removed before season...either they're still baiting or they have better habitat. And sometimes turkeys will just go where they want to go for no apparent reason.
