I always thought you couldnt reload as cheap as you could buy, but Ive consolidated some calibers and thinking about getting into it. Ive reloaded shotgun stuff for years, but was looking at a simple beginners unit for centerfire. I will mostly be loading .270... at least thats what I would start with. What would be a good beginner unit to start out with, and what equipment do I really need. Ive done a really good job of saving brass, and even keeping up with what came out of what gun. Really looking for input as to presses, etc.

This may be my Christmas project to myself.

i started out with a rcbs set that had all of the things to get started. i have been wanting a progressive, just can't seem to put the funds together to get one lately.

I started out with a Lee anniversary kit and just upgraded the scale to a digital one, and then my ADD kicked in so it sits in the closet but I'm going to get it back out soon.

Cabelas or midway just had the lee set on sale. Think it's the challenger kit. Very similar to the anniversary kit. I know several don't like lee or think that other brands are better but to get started you can't beat this

I think the Rockchucker kit is on sale for Christmas at Midway, with a set of dies you should have all the basic stuff needed to start loading ammo,,there will be things that make it easier and somewhat faster you can pick up latter if you decide to really get into it

Get ready to go broke. I believe every time I turn around I see something else I want or think I have to have. I like the RCBS Rockshucker kit it should be a good start.

My opinion is it really depends on what your looking for. Are you looking for quanity or quality? I agree with the other guys that the starter kit is good but if your serious about it the first thing that's gonna get put in the closet is the powder throw and the mechanical scale. I bought the chargemaster 1500 (I think that's what it is) and the case prep center is a must.

Its really up to you and your bank account. I have a media tumbler. I would like to get the ultra sonic cleaners. Then there Is the dies. Neck sizer, full lenghth. There are a lot of videos on you tube but the possibilities are endless

I'm quality I've quantity. I have a digital scale anyway. Was wondering besides press, dies, about resizers, calipers, media tumblers, etc.

RCBS Rockchucker set will get you going good. Everything you basically need is there to start with. You can order more as time goes for different needs.
