I just wanted to thank everyone on here for the advice and help with all the questions I have had you all were a big help. I love reloading it has'nt really saved me much money, I don't think, but thats just because I shoot twice as much as I used to for less money! But thanks again for the help and advice.

Yeah I believe so, I'm lucky enough to live on 140 acres of land and have a 400 yard range running from the deck on the back of the house to end of the field.

It hooks you. It relaxs me to sit at the bench and load rounds.

I look at reloading the same as the above mentioned, if you think you are doing it to save money, well in the "LONG" run you may eventually do some a small amount at a time, it's like saying you hunt to lower the grocery bill................

It gives you the advantage of doing things basic factory ammo does not allow or is not capable of doing.

And finally, it is one of the most metally relaxing hobbies I do.

best of luck with your new found hobby.

nothing like going inside and loading 5,,walkin outside and testing them,,then loading 5 more while your barrel cools down

its the only way to roll, my range is at my house, shooting bench and loading room are less than 50 feet apart, targets at 100, 200, 275, 472 yards, the last two are at those yardages so as not to interfer with farming operation

You guys make me jealous of your at-home ranges. The only range I have at home is in the kitchen.

I have to load up 5 shells each with 3 or 4 different charges, then drive 20 minutes to the gunclub to try them out.

Sunday I spent an hour in the workshop just sorting and inventorying bullets, powders, cases, etc. In a couple weeks I'm gonna take my protable press and equipment and go teach a buddy how to do it. Then we'll hit the gun show and get him his own equipment.

it only took me 60 years to get to this point

There you go again.

I will have to take a couple pics of my set-up and post them one day its nowhere near as nice looking as Chaneylake's. I have a frame built for paper target at 100 and 200 then 3 hardened 12"x12"x1/2" plates at 400. I want to cut a lane angling across the field which would put me right at 600yds and move one of the plates out there.

I have never met a handloader that was not at least above average shot,,most are top notch.

Agree but alot depends on the trigger time they get and how much they shoot in field positions vs bench only.

Squirrel hunting with a .22 hones marksmanship more than anything I have tried. Reloaders do tend to shoot more to test batches and it is cheaper to shoot.
