Is it a love- hate thing. I am thinking I want to get started...not to save money, because I know if I get started I will spend a lot more. As it stands now, I only shoot a 22 4-500 rounds a year, and then my hunting rifle maybe 20 times before the season opens.

If I reloaded I would probably shoot a heck of a lot more spending more....I have always found something my rifles would shoot well off the shelf, but I am intrigued about closing the group up some. But it's a lot of money to toss to get started too.

I think I have been listening to Dave Ramsey to much..I just hate to turn loss the money.

Reloading is without a doubt the biggest thing to improve my shooting. It wasn't just the better ammo, it was all the time I spent shooting. I used to shoot 10-20 rounds a year. The first year I reloaded, I shot 200. And that was just one rifle. I enjoy it much more now, too.

It's a love-hate thing. I hate prepping brass. I love dropping powder and seating the bullet. I also love shooting. You will probably spend 10 times more money on powder and different types of bullets.

You said it,always something else to try.

It's another hobby in and of itself. I used to shoot only before hunting season and and maybe one other time a year. Since I started reloading 3 years ago, I've spent some money on everything related to shooting.

It won't save you money...Trust me. It will make you shoot more and get more involved in shooting sports.

Yeah I have that part figured out. If it was just about saving money I think no more then I shoot now, I could purchase enough ammo for the rest of my life for what all this stuff can cost. It looks cheap looking at just a kit. but when you start adding stuff equipment wise that doesn't come in the kit it adds up real quick..I still cant decide but probably will soon get started.

I'd go this route if you want some good stuff right off the bat:

RCBS Rock chucker press... around $100
Forester case trimmer/pilots... $100
Pact digital scale/ dispenser.... $220
Dies (redding are best, rcbs ok)..$35/set
RCBS hand primer... $35

figure another $100 for shellholders, case lube, primer pocket uniformer, chamfer tool, etc and you should be in business with top of the line equipment right out of the gate and no need to upgrade in the future.

I get crazy sometimes,,I`ll find a load that will drive nails and get bored with it and switch bullets and start over,,

I am going to geuss from here back I probablly shoot about 3,000 centerfire rounds a year,,now i got this black thing in the safe I have shot 500 times in 8 weeks

you need to look at it like golf or fishing
