Finally redeemed myself this morning after missing this ol boy wednesday. Got settled in the blind bout an hour before daylight and napped till gobble time. Finally I start hearing a bird sound off long ways off, but not the gobbler I know is close, as Im in his strut zone. Well, as I'm trying to decide if I need to pursue the gobbling bird or not I look out in front of the blind and there stands my strutter at 40 yards. Couple quick clucks from the hooks mouth call and I squeeze the trigger and let the remington eat. 6:55 birds flopping, Definately my quickest hunt and boy does it feel great to redeem my miss. 11" beard, 18.5 lbs, and .5 and .75 spurs, biggest beard to date.
My buddy also killed one ten mins after me just a mile down the road, here both of the birds.
