I have a 11-87 12 gauge super magnum that is not very old. I've been having problems with it so I decided to get to the bottom of it. Sent it to a gunsmith and was told to get a new trigger assembly or get a carrier and carrier latch because those are the specific parts that have broken. So I start searching and find out that these parts, except for the carrier latch, are discontinued for the super mag. I can't find them anywhere, I've called Remington and they just said sorry about it. I'm sick over it, paid hundreds for the gun not long ago and it is absolutely useless now. I just wanted to post a warning to you all with the same gun. Better not run to many shells through yours or just sell them off. I will never again buy Remington, this is the last straw.

And now is not the time to piss customers off in the gun world. They should be thankful for anyone of us that owns their products.

Some years ago I bought a brand new 11-87. On about the 4th or 5th patterning shot the magazine and gas assembly completely separated from the barrel and forearm. It scared the crap out of me and took a few moments to determine if I'd been physically hurt in anyway. Called Remington and they told me to box it up and they'd send another.

Upon arrival of the new I promptly sold it...never even opened the box. That's the last Remington shotgun I'll ever own.

That sucks, hope you can find some resolution in some form or fashion. On a side note, I have shot hundreds, if not thousands of shells through my 870s for the last 25 years without a single hiccup. I have no experience with autos as they seem to be more "problem prone" regardless of the manufacturer.

Those 1187 Super Mags are notorious for being nothing but problems. They just don't hold up to those 3.5"s after time.

Good luck on finding parts. I'd second Numrich as well.

I had one of those guns when they came out years ago and ran into the same problem. Anyway, brownells has the carrier latch and spring. Check them out

I'd set a search on gunbroker for the parts you need.
You'll get an email when something that matches is posted.

I've been a Remington fan my entire life, the old 1100 and the old 11-87 and 870 are about as reliable as it gets.
But the new stuff now they make is just cheap crap. I'll never buy a new Remington, I'll just stick with my old ones that have been at my house for 20 years
