are there any decent front bead replacement options out there? I have tried a few but either they dont seem to have any "shine" to them or they are junk. I dont like the big ones like the FAT BEAD because it covers the hole shot sight.

I dont really want to use rifle style sights i just want to replace my front bead with one that actual has some glow to it on my new 3500 gun.

I have a tru glo fiber optic, probably the one Roost is talking about, but it is not magnetic, just snaps over bead. Not a true "bead" shape, more cylindrical, but I have one as my front sight during duck season and it works fine

well i picked me up a Truglo Long Bead during lunch i guess we will see if it will work. if not i will just order something else after i take it back. I tried to take the Hiviz off my other gun and switch it to this new one but the screw was not long enough to catch threads. That is the only thing that has me worried about trying another Hiviz. Fits great on my M2000 though.

after looking for a long time i am AMAZED at the lack of decent replacement front beads out there. You either have to get one with rifle sight and just throw the back sight away or get a giant long one to put on there.

it's been at least 15 yrs but I asked a gunsmith to recommend a replacement bead for my BPS and had him to install it. dont remember the name of it but it's toughter than any sell peg version that was on the market at the time. just bright enough to see it but not too bright to distract from the job at hand.

you might check with a gunsmith.

well the LONG BEAD SUCKS for me. None of the stupid screws where long enough or fit real well so its going back. I ordered a Williams fire sight front bead so i guess i will see how that one fits. Its an over the rib style bead so I am hoping i found the one.

THAT'S IT. it was a Williams firesight i had installed. except my was the screw in type that replaced the factory bead.

I don't rememer the one that I used. I bought my gun from my cousin and it had a cheapo fiber optic on it. I replaced it with one that I bought at a gun store. Fit right in to the factory screw hole. It's not huge but bigger than factory but smaller than the long ones. Really like it.

Most of those fiber obtic beads are too high and will require a back bead to bring your pattern back up when adjusted. At 40 yards the bulk of the pellets are centered at the Beard when aiming at the Head. Some guns are different though.

One of the reasons that I liked this one is because it was very small. After reading this post I decided to do a comparison so I got out my MKII 1400 12 ga, Grandpa's 1400 16 ga, and dad's 878 Automaster 12 ga.

This is the MKII 1400 compared to the 1400

It is a bit larger but not too much so.

LOL...I knew that but was being called to the dinner table and was in a rush to get them posted. Gonna retake pictures for clarity and edit post in a minute...
