A good many years ago I discovered the Safari Sling in a Cabela's catalog. I ordered one. Best dang long gun sling ever made! It keeps the weapon in front of you and ready to raise and fire.

FAST FORWARD to earlier this week. I decided that I wanted a nice/functional/old school leather sling to swap between my 541 rifles. Web searches turned up everything from $5 to $500 and every material under the sun. One leather company kept popping up in my searches so I started researching them and pulling up reviews. After some serious consideration I placed my order. Today my Murray Custom Leather Company A-1 Quick Set leather sling was delivered. Now, I am by no means a connoisseur of leather no matter the grade/quality but to say I'm pleased wouldn't no where near cover it. It's just a simple, adjustable 1 1/4" quick adjust leather sling but the quality is outstanding. The company is in Texas and all materials are from here in the US with not a single piece of foreign material used. I ordered mine with swivels already installed and they are of just as good quality as the leather. Just the feel of this leather seems different and it definitely matches the quality of the Remington 541 rifles.

So, if y'all are looking for quality in a leather sling I can recommend this outfit. And slings are just one of their products. From the looks of the other stuff...... if it's leather, they're GOOD.

I love quality leather slings and belts and its all I use for holsters. Always good to see quality leather.

I have a couple of leather slings from Turner Saddlery and they are high quality also.

Beltman is quality for belts.

And J. M. Ross in Bulls Gap Tennessee made me a very nice set of western style holsters.

Leather work is another art that's going by the wayside or becoming very expensive to buy the products. I've thought about taking it up as a retirement project.

I have a couple of bullhide gun belts from AG Custom Gun Leather. These belts are gonna outlast me and I've been wearing them for over 10 years. They will not roll over due to weapon weight like lesser belts with a holstered weapon being carried.
