Rope Cocker Issue....

Anybody have one just expolde on ya. The plastic hooks that attach to the crossbow string broke on me yesterday. Scared the you know what out of me. Anyone have that happen? was curious if there have been issues. Just ordered a Cranking device for the Predator. No damage to the crossbow or myself thankfully.

Yikes! I can see elbowing myself in the nuts and falling out of the treestand if mine broke. :-D

You have to inspect them occasionally because the pins will slide out over time causing it to "explode". You got lucky that you nor your bow were hurt.

I always keep a backup. I have retired one when it started to become frayed.

Mine broke a couple of years ago. I got 2 steel links the kind that have the spring in the middle, quick connect. Put black tape, several layers, around it where it is on the bow string. It works fine no damage to the string and it will not break. The tape also helps it slide up the bow and does not damage the rail.

ended up getting a rope cocking crank. Love it. Small price to pay for safety in my opinion.
