I didn't get to see any of the responses (if any) on the question I had on using round hay bales for backstops. Basically wanting to know if anybody has done it and has it caused damage to your arrows? I was told that it would by a neighbor.

Got a lake near you? We went in the winter and found old Styrofoam from boat docks that had come apart. Most pieces were 10 feet long or better. Used four standard fence posts to hold the foam in place and stacked as high as we wanted. Only a very rare stray finds its way through the seam between pieces.

Yes I'm near the lake. Got 6 ramps within 5 miles of my house. I've seen some while out scouting but it was a long ways away from the truck. That would be good for a backstop. Just to reiterate, I have targets to shoot at but want a backstop behind them as I try to increase the distances I shoot. Don't want to be looking for arrows in the ground.
