Saban or the Bear

I didn't read it but my opinion is Saban has accomplished more. Much more parity in today's teams than when Bear did it. He was still a great coach but the nod would go to Saban in my opinion.
Agree

I know one particular coach that never lost to BB.
Here, I'll give you a hint

There is no way to directly compare the two. Sort of like comparing an apple and a hammer. Saban has won all his National Championships at Alabama under BCS and Playoff rules. Bear won his back when AP Sportswriters picked the national champion. (Rarely did the #1 play the #2 team back then. )

In my opinion, (which means nothing) Saban has accomplished far more in an era that was more difficult to navigate.

Bryant won six national championships in 25 years at Bama with unlimited scholarships most of those years. And some of those were shared, as the AP, UPI, Football Writers of America, and others chose the champion(s). The SEC was nothing like it is today either (I'm turning 60 and don't recall LSU being good until Saban got there, save for a season here and there, same for Georgia (save for 1980), same for Florida (Charlie Pell lol). Arkansas was good but in the old SWC in Bear's day. Across college football until the TV contracts were forced to become by conference, not team, the 60s and 70s were Bama, OSU, USC, ND, Michigan, Texas, Oklahoma, Penn State, and Nebraska.

Saban. Hands down.

But it's changing again, and the change now is going to be thunderous. I'm happy my team has the second largest GLOBAL alumni base and is located in a metro area of over 2 million people. It's not Los Angeles, but it's not a metro area of only 235,000 like Tuscaloosa.

The times they are a changin'.
